Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer horror game where one player takes on the role of a killer and four other players are survivors trying to escape. Survivors see the game world in third person and have better awareness, while the killer has first-person view and focuses on their prey. Survivors must cooperate or compete to escape the procedurally generated levels before the killer catches them. The killer can choose from various terrifying entities and use unique powers to hunt down survivors. Both killers and survivors have progression systems with unlockables for customization. Dead by Daylight delivers a terrifying experience with unpredictable gameplay due to procedural level design and human reactions.
