S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is a prequel to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl that explores the backstory of the Zone. Players take on the role of Scar, a mercenary who investigates the Great Emission, a catastrophic event that reshaped the Zone. The game features new locations like Swamps, Red Forest, Limansk, and Abandoned Hospital, each with unique challenges and stories. Players can choose to join factions or work as mercenaries, influencing the balance of power in the Zone. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky introduces new weapons and equipment, an advanced upgrade system, a dozen new anomalies and artifacts, and improved graphics, interface, and AI.
