Dawn of Man is a survival and city-building game that challenges players to lead a settlement of early humans through the ages. Spanning over 10,000 years from the Stone Age to the Iron Age, players must guide their people to survive, expand, and evolve by hunting animals for food and resources, gathering natural materials, and building structures. Players will need to plan for seasonal changes, ensuring sufficient food and warm clothing during harsh winters. Expansion involves constructing more homes and facilities while preparing for conflict with fortifications and weapons. As the settlement progresses, players can research new technologies to support a growing population but face increasing challenges like higher food demand and raider attacks. Dawn of Man also allows players to construct impressive megalithic structures and unlock farming and animal domestication to further sustain their civilization.
