In Radical Spectrum: Volume 1, players take on the role of Doc DuBrane, a skilled defender tasked with protecting Nucleusport from an alien invasion. Prince FaceBox and his forces bombard the futuristic city with radioactive waste, forcing Doc to utilize his powerful Prisma Cannon. The game is a fast-paced arcade shooter where players must collect colored radiation emitted by alien ships to fire back at them. Strategically collecting three colors of the same hue allows players to unleash powerful attacks. However, black radiation poses a deadly threat; if it touches the ground or Doc, the game ends. Players must carefully balance destroying UFOs with avoiding dangerous black radiation, making every action count in this challenging and rewarding experience.
