Phantom Abyss is a challenging asynchronous multiplayer game where players explore procedurally-generated temples filled with traps, guardians, and hidden relics. Each temple presents a unique path with branching routes and deadly obstacles. Players have one attempt to retrieve a relic from each temple, learning from the successes and failures of other players through phantom runs. Discovering the legendary relic at the end of a temple makes it disappear forever, becoming the player's exclusive trophy. Players can unlock deeper, more dangerous sections of temples by finding keys in chests. Throughout their journey, adventurers can make offerings at altars to receive blessings that grant them special abilities. Players can also unlock new whips, each with unique blessings and curses, to aid them in their quest. Social features allow players to share temple codes with friends or create playlists of past attempts for others to experience.
