Dungeon Munchies is a side-scrolling action RPG where players must escape a mysterious underground complex by hunting creatures, cooking them into dishes, and consuming them to gain special abilities. With a limited stomach capacity of seven dishes, players must carefully select their meals to maximize their combat effectiveness, choosing from options like guava juice for health recovery, grilled shrimp for damage output, or crab stir fry for a watery shield. Players can craft weapons from inedible animal and plant parts, combining them with their chosen dishes to create powerful combat combos. The dungeon is filled with unique and challenging creatures, such as electrical snails, razor-sharp shrimp claws, and laser wasps, that players must defeat to obtain the necessary ingredients for cooking. Dungeon Munchies features a quirky cast of characters, including a self-proclaimed AAA-license-holding necro-chef and a diabolical voodoo lord, who all have their own agendas for the player.
