BIOMUTANT is an open-world post-apocalyptic RPG set in a vibrant and colorful world where a deadly plague threatens the land and divides the Tribes. Players take on the role of a mutated warrior who must navigate this dangerous landscape, master unique martial arts combat, and ultimately decide the fate of the world. The game features a customizable character progression system allowing players to evolve their abilities through genetic re-coding, mutations, and learning new Wung-Fu combat forms. Crafting is also a key element, allowing players to build their own weapons and modify them with unique parts. Players can explore the world on foot, by mech, jet-ski, air-balloon, or other unique mounts, uncovering mysteries, confronting dangerous creatures, and interacting with a cast of colorful characters. The story unfolds through the guidance of a Storyteller, but ultimately player choices determine the ending.
