Natural Selection 2 is a first-person shooter and real-time strategy game where players choose to fight as human marines or alien Kharaa lifeforms. Players on each team have a Commander who controls resources, technology, and deploys units. Humans use weapons like rifles, shotguns, and grenade launchers, while aliens evolve into various forms with unique abilities such as wall running, gas attacks, healing, and size-based strength. Marines can construct Exosuits for powerful assaults, while alien Commanders grow Hives to expand their influence. The game features constant updates, open-source modding tools, and a Digital Deluxe Edition that includes an official soundtrack, digital art book, exclusive in-game model, and wallpapers.
