Apollo4x is a strategy game that combines resource management, puzzle-solving, and tycoon elements. Players must transport five resources between planets while managing limited fuel. Unlike traditional 4X games, Apollo4x features a unique "time pressure" mechanic where an encroaching enemy consumes planets. Players can adjust the difficulty to their liking, ranging from zero challenge to extremely difficult. The game focuses on a trading economy, with players matching exports and imports across planets to generate income. Combat is handled through a tactical card game inspired by tabletop games, featuring unique units and strategies for each of the four enemy clans based on the Four Horsemen. Players can choose to win through economic dominance, military victory, or expansion.
