Paint the Town Red is a first-person melee combat game with destructible voxel-based enemies. Players can fight in various scenarios like bars, discos, prisons, pirate coves, and saloons, using a wide range of weapons found within the environment. The game features a rogue-lite campaign called "Beneath" where players descend into an underground world battling monsters, unlocking upgrades, and facing powerful bosses.
