Quake II is a first-person shooter video game developed by id Software in 1997. The game features a new science fiction storyline where humanity is at war with the Strogg, a hostile alien race planning an invasion of Earth. Players take on the role of a marine fighting to survive and shut down the enemy's war machine. Quake II includes both expansion packs: The Reckoning and Ground Zero. The Reckoning tasks players with infiltrating a Strogg site and destroying their secret moon base. Ground Zero sees players battling to free captured comrades and destroy the Strogg's Gravity Well weapon. Both expansion packs add new single-player levels, deathmatch levels, weapons, enemies, and power-ups.
