War for the Overworld is a dungeon management game that allows players to build and customize their own dungeons. Players can choose from over sixty rooms, spells, potions, and other tools to create their ideal evil lair. The game features six different modes, including Campaign, Skirmish, Scenarios, Multiplayer, Survival, and My Pet Dungeon. Players can also use the in-game map editor to create their own maps and campaigns, which can be shared with others on the Steam Workshop.
