Alice: Madness Returns follows Alice Liddell, who after surviving a tragic fire that claimed her family, has spent years battling inner demons within Rutledge Asylum. Released from confinement, Alice seeks solace and answers in Wonderland, hoping to find peace and uncover the truth about her past. However, Wonderland has been corrupted by a sinister force, twisting its familiar characters and landscapes into nightmarish reflections of their former selves. Armed with an arsenal of unique weapons like the Teapot Cannon and Hobby Horse, Alice must confront these twisted creatures and unravel the mystery behind Wonderland's decay, all while battling her own mental instability to save both realms from descending into madness.
