Beyond The Wire is a first-person shooter set in the Western Front of World War I. Players engage in large-scale battles with up to 100 players, divided into two teams of fifty, each with nine-person squads and commanders. The game emphasizes team collaboration through communication and coordination, requiring players to work together to overcome enemy emplacements, navigate open maps, and survive the intense trench warfare. Players can choose from ten different factions, each with unique equipment, vehicles, and maps. Various roles are available, including Infantry Officer, Rifleman, Medic, Grenadier, Sniper, and Artillery Gunner, each with specialized loadouts. Beyond The Wire features historically accurate weapons, era-specific vehicles like tanks, and a brutal melee combat system with parry mechanics.
